Project A · Weeks 3–8

Marketing site practice briefs

Fictional clients for your practice marketing website

Eight fictional clients for Product Design cohorts. Read each brief like a real job: the client business, who visits the site, then you design a marketing website that explains, builds trust, and drives one action (landing → value → form → confirmation). Desktop first. Not a capstone app.

Start with Beginner · single audience briefs. Stretch · dual audience briefs are optional. Complete Project A by Week 8. Capstone briefs are assigned in class from the teaching dashboard.

What each brief contains

  1. 01 The client (business)
  2. 02 Who the site is for
  3. 03 What success looks like
  4. 04 Pages to design
  5. 05 Visitor path & main button
  6. 06 Do not design
  7. 07 What you submit
  8. 08 Look & feel

Frequently asked questions

Is this the same as the capstone app brief?

No. This collection is Project A only: marketing websites for weeks 3–8. Capstone briefs are mobile or web apps for weeks 9–12. Your instructor assigns those in class. Use a different company for capstone.

Which brief should I pick first?

Start with Beginner · single audience (PermitEase, AnkaraDrop, KoboSave, ParcelPin, SunTill). Stretch · dual audience briefs (ClassBridge, HarvestLink, CliniqBook) are for when you can already clear home → trust → form on a single audience.

Can I use my own fictional company instead of these briefs?

Yes, if your instructor allows it. You still must write a one-page client intake (Week 5): business, audience, success, constraints. Same page scope discipline.

Do I need a responsive or mobile version?

Not for Project A v1. Desktop marketing site is required. Responsive breakpoints are stretch after required pages work on desktop. Native mobile app is out of scope.

Are the goals business goals?

They are website goals (explain, build trust, submit form). Not company revenue OKRs. Your Week 8 defense should show the visitor path to that one main button.

What visitor path do reviewers expect?

Home → proof or how it works → main button → Thank you page. Name it on your sitemap slide in Week 8.

When does Project A end?

Week 8. You present the marketing site that week and lock your capstone brief (Project B) as a new product.
